Assistant Professor of English

About the role

The Faculty of English is seeking an Assistant Professor to join its academic team. The successful candidate will teach a range of English literature, language, communication, and writing courses while contributing to research and curriculum development.

Key responsibilities

• Teach undergraduate and postgraduate courses in English literature, language, communication, and academic/professional writing.
• Design lesson plans, assessments, and course materials, and maintain academic records.
• Implement innovative, blended, and AI‑enabled teaching practices.
• Mentor students, supporting their academic, research, and career development.
• Participate in curriculum development aligned with UGC/NEP 2020 guidelines.
• Conduct research, publish in reputable journals, and present at conferences.
• Organise seminars, workshops, literary events, and other academic activities.
• Assist with admissions, accreditation, examinations, placements, and other institutional initiatives.
• Develop interdisciplinary collaborations and partnerships with industry.

Required profile

• Master’s degree in English, English Literature, Linguistics, Communication or a related discipline.
• Eligibility through NET/SLET/SET and/or a Ph.D. as per prevailing UGC norms.
