Assistant Professor of English

About the role

The Assistant Professor of English will join Chandigarh University to deliver high‑quality instruction, conduct scholarly research, and provide academic leadership within the English department. The position supports the university’s mission of research excellence and student development.

Key responsibilities

• Teach lectures, workshops, and practical sessions on communication, soft skills, and public speaking.
• Develop innovative, industry‑relevant curricula, course materials, and lab manuals.
• Mentor students on academic performance, career growth, and soft‑skill development.
• Assess student work through assignments, presentations, and technical interviews.
• Engage in scholarly research, publish in peer‑reviewed journals, and attend academic seminars.
• Participate in institutional committees, accreditation processes (NAAC/NBA), and departmental meetings.

Required profile

• Master’s degree minimum in English, Communication Studies, or a related discipline; Ph.D. preferred.
• Demonstrated ability to teach and develop curriculum at the university level.
• Strong record of research and publication in relevant fields.
• Willingness to contribute to university service and accreditation activities.
