Assistant Professor – IT

About the role

The Assistant Professor – IT will join a higher‑education institution to deliver high‑quality teaching, guide student development, and contribute to research and curriculum design in information technology.

Key responsibilities

• Deliver lectures, tutorials, workshops and practical sessions covering subjects such as Artificial Intelligence, Machine Learning, Big Data Analytics, Embedded Systems, Database Management, Networking, Cyber Security, Cloud Computing and Web Technologies.
• Prepare lesson plans, course materials and instructional resources; conduct assessments, assignments, projects and examinations.
• Evaluate answer scripts, provide constructive feedback and mentor students in academic and career matters.
• Participate in curriculum design and updates, incorporating emerging industry trends and technologies.
• Conduct research in relevant IT domains, publish papers in national and international journals, and apply for research grants.
• Engage in seminars, conferences, workshops and faculty development programmes; support accreditation and academic audit activities.
• Supervise student projects, internships and dissertations; contribute to admission, examination and placement processes.

Required profile

• Master’s degree in Information Technology, Computer Science or a related field with at least 55% marks.
• NET qualification is mandatory; PhD preferred as per UGC/AICTE norms.
• 5‑7 years of teaching experience at the college or university level.

Required skills

• Strong knowledge of core IT and Computer Science subjects.
• Proficiency in programming languages such as Python, Java and C++.
• Familiarity with modern technologies including AI, Cloud Computing, Data Analytics and Cyber Security.
• Excellent communication and presentation abilities.
• Research aptitude and experience publishing scholarly work.
• Competence with MS Office and academic software tools.
