Assistant Professor in Finance and Accounting

About the role

The University of Liverpool’s India Campus is building a founding academic team and seeks a dynamic Assistant Professor in Finance and Accounting. You will contribute to world‑class teaching at undergraduate and postgraduate levels while helping shape a learner‑centric environment that reflects the university’s global standards.

Key responsibilities

• Design, deliver and manage finance and accounting modules for undergraduate and postgraduate programmes, ensuring relevance to industry and academic standards.
• Prepare course materials, assessments and evaluation reports in line with university quality criteria.
• Integrate research‑informed and industry‑aligned practices into teaching, learning and feedback processes.
• Supervise dissertations and applied research projects at both undergraduate and postgraduate levels.
• Conduct original research leading to publications in high‑quality academic journals and pursue externally funded research opportunities.
• Contribute to academic administration, including assessment moderation, programme review and quality assurance compliance.
• Support student experience through mentoring, academic advising and inclusive teaching practices.
• Participate in departmental meetings, committees and collaborative academic initiatives.

Required profile

• Ph.D. in Accountancy, Finance or a closely related field.
• Demonstrated academic experience with meaningful contributions to teaching and emerging research.
• Proven ability to design and deliver high‑quality, research‑informed teaching at undergraduate and postgraduate levels.
• Established research trajectory in finance and/or accounting.
• Experience in curriculum development and programme enhancement aligned with industry needs.
• Potential for academic leadership, including course coordination, student mentoring and departmental committee participation.
