Assistant Professor – English & Soft Skills

About the role

We are seeking an Assistant Professor to deliver postgraduate courses in English and Soft Skills. The role involves teaching, mentoring, curriculum development, and contributing to the academic community through research and service.

Key responsibilities

• Teach and assess English and communication‑skill modules through lectures, seminars, tutorials and supervision.
• Design and review teaching approaches, develop innovative learning methods, and ensure quality assurance.
• Provide pastoral support, mentorship, and role‑modeling for students.
• Contribute to curriculum development and work with national bodies on standards.
• Develop and teach postgraduate courses in English and soft‑skill topics.
• Publish research in reputable English language journals.
• Participate in departmental, college and university committees.
• Perform administrative duties as assigned by the Department Chair.

Required profile

• Master’s degree in English (First Class) from a recognized university.
• 2–4 years of teaching experience at undergraduate or postgraduate level.
• Strong commitment to teaching excellence, curriculum development and outcome assessment.
• Excellent oral and written communication skills and interpersonal abilities.
• Preference for candidates pursuing a Ph.D. or who have cleared NET/SLAT, with a record of research and publications.
