Assistant Professor – Child & Community Health Nursing

About the role

The Pramoth Nath Das Academy of Nursing is seeking an Assistant Professor to teach Child Health Nursing and Community Health Nursing to students in its General Nursing & Midwifery (GNM) and B.Sc. Nursing programmes. The position is full‑time, on‑site in Burnpur and involves both classroom and clinical instruction.

Key responsibilities

• Develop and deliver lecture, laboratory and clinical sessions for GNM and B.Sc. Nursing students.
• Prepare lesson plans, teaching materials and assessment tools.
• Supervise students during clinical postings, ensuring skill development and patient‑centered care.
• Evaluate student performance through examinations, assignments and practical assessments.
• Contribute to curriculum design, academic meetings and faculty development activities.
• Provide academic advising and counseling to students as needed.
• Uphold professional and ethical standards and collaborate with colleagues to improve the learning environment.

Required profile

• Master’s degree in Nursing (M.Sc. Nursing) or higher from a recognized institution.
• Valid registration with the appropriate Nursing Council.
• Thorough knowledge of GNM and B.Sc. Nursing curricula and regulatory guidelines.
• Demonstrated teaching, mentoring and classroom management abilities.
• Strong clinical competence in nursing practice and supervision.
• Effective communication and interpersonal skills for teamwork.
• Commitment to continuous learning, ethics and participation in faculty development programmes.
