Assistant Professor – Bioengineering

About the role

MIT-WPU is looking for an Assistant Professor in Bioengineering to join its faculty. The role involves delivering lectures, designing curriculum, supervising labs, and driving research initiatives in a vibrant academic environment.

Key responsibilities

• Conduct lectures, practicals, laboratory sessions and tutorials as per the assigned workload.
• Assist senior faculty in developing and updating the Bioengineering curriculum.
• Prepare question papers, evaluate answer sheets and participate in examination duties.
• Organise seminars, workshops, FDPs, technical symposiums and industry visits for student exposure.
• Lead research projects, publish papers in peer‑reviewed journals and conferences, and co‑author grant proposals.
• Mentor students in research, project competitions and skill‑development programmes.
• Participate in student welfare activities, admissions counselling and extracurricular events.
• Ensure laboratory safety, equipment maintenance and compliance with budgetary directives.
• Foster collaborations with biomedical, biotech and healthcare companies, hospitals and research institutions for internships, placements and joint research.

Required profile

• Preferably a Ph.D. in Bioengineering, Biomedical Engineering or a closely related discipline.
• Master’s degree with at least 55% marks (or equivalent).
• Demonstrated teaching or research experience in bioengineering or allied fields.
• Ability to develop curriculum, supervise labs and guide student research.
