Assistant Manager – Welfare

About the role

The Assistant Manager – Welfare will lead the day‑to‑day welfare, facility and transportation services for the manufacturing site. This role ensures high standards of food hygiene, safe commuting, and a comfortable working environment while maintaining statutory compliance.

Key responsibilities

• Manage facilities upkeep, canteen operations, vendor contracts, and ensure food hygiene and quality standards.
• Oversee employee transportation, including staff buses, taxis and company vehicles, to guarantee safe and reliable commuting.
• Administer plant facilities such as uniform distribution, printing, stationery and overall site amenities.
• Control welfare budgets (Capex and Opex), handle purchasing, contract renewals and monitor vendor performance.
• Implement security operating manuals, conduct site audits and maintain business continuity.
• Ensure statutory welfare provisions, occupational health, clean drinking water, gender‑segregated sanitation and PPE compliance.
• Maintain 100% enrollment in ESI and EPF, process maternity benefits, workmen’s compensation claims and advise on statutory entitlements.
• Handle worker grievances, maintain a complaints register and facilitate works committee meetings.
• Organise orientation, health‑safety awareness drives and employee engagement events.

Required profile

• Graduate degree or diploma in Social Work, Labour Welfare, Personnel Management or Social Science.
• Minimum two years of welfare experience in a manufacturing environment.
• At least 10 years of relevant experience, proactive, self‑driven and energetic.
• Strong communication skills, team player attitude and enthusiasm.
