Assistant Manager – Supply Chain Management

About the role

The Assistant Manager – Supply Chain Management will support end‑to‑end supply chain activities for Tata Communications, ensuring service availability, cost efficiency and timely delivery across projects and operations.

Key responsibilities

• Participate in procurement, vendor management, negotiation, sourcing and contract management to guarantee service continuity.
• Manage Operations & Maintenance projects, POP sites and fiber network, including AMC renewals.
• Oversee end‑of‑life asset replacement such as battery banks, SMPS and cooling equipment.
• Drive operational excellence initiatives like touchless PO implementation, catalogue and OLA preparation.
• Prepare monthly dashboards and reports for internal stakeholders.
• Support customer‑sponsored projects, including Amazon Kuiper and international initiatives.
• Review procurement volumes, identify opportunities for rate or frame contracts and finalize agreements.
• Collaborate with internal teams to capture project and operational requirements.
• Work with demand and delivery managers to ensure clear specifications and SLAs.
• Expedite deliveries, resolve logistics challenges and monitor supply‑chain inventory.
• Analyze delivery data to identify bottlenecks and improve processes.
• Conduct procurement negotiations, order processing and maintain required service supply.
• Ensure vendor compliance with supply‑management policies and procedures.

Required profile

• Bachelor’s degree in engineering, business or an equivalent qualification.
• 3–6 years of experience in supply chain, indirect sourcing or procurement roles.
• Strong interpersonal and negotiation abilities with vendors, suppliers and customers.
• Experience in service procurement and vendor onboarding.
• Good understanding of contract management and risk coverage.
