Assistant Manager – Ocean Operations (Mumbai)

About the role

As an Assistant Manager – Ocean Operations you will execute end‑to‑end movement of shipments within a regional network, coordinating supply‑chain operations across the ISC region. The role focuses on delivering a first‑class customer experience by obsessing over quality and on‑time performance.

Key responsibilities

• Achieve the highest Flexport quality standards: ensure shipments move on‑time and handle exceptions appropriately.
• Meet internal KPIs and SLAs that demonstrate quality delivery.
• Follow standard operating procedures (SOP) and solve client issues quickly, escalating when necessary.
• Coordinate day‑to‑day logistics with internal and external partners such as ocean carriers, cartage partners, customs, and warehouses.
• Execute the end‑to‑end movement of freight within the regional network.

Required profile

• Bachelor’s degree.
• Minimum 5 years of global forwarding or related experience.
• Growth mindset with a focus on continuous improvement.
• 4+ years of experience in ocean freight, import compliance, or warehousing (preferred).
• Strong critical‑thinking, attention to detail, and effective communication skills.
• Ability to work collaboratively in a fast‑paced, evolving environment.
• Exceptional organisational, prioritisation and planning abilities.
• Proficiency in MS Office or Google apps.
