Assistant Manager - Maintenance

About the role

The Assistant Manager – Maintenance will be based at Cargill’s Doddaballapura plant in Bangalore. You will plan and oversee routine and preventive maintenance activities for plant assets, develop detailed work packages, and ensure compliance with engineering, safety and quality standards.

Key responsibilities

• Plan and execute breakdown and preventive maintenance tasks, maintaining accurate records.
• Manage CAPEX project documentation, raise purchase requests, and coordinate spare parts procurement with the procurement team.
• Train maintenance personnel and oversee utility and equipment maintenance, including boiler license renewal and calibration of measuring devices.
• Update plant and utility layouts and obtain necessary approvals.
• Implement EHS, FSQR, reliability and value‑creation programs while operating within the engineering department budget.
• Maintain critical spares inventory, handle inter‑plant asset transfers, and manage vendor repairs.

Required profile

• Full‑time engineering degree (Mechanical or Chemical specialization).
• Minimum 5 years of maintenance experience in API/bulk drug, herbal or chemical plants.
• Experience in utility, infrastructure, equipment maintenance, and engineering spares management.
• Strong exposure to engineering projects and preventive maintenance practices.
