Assistant Manager - Food & Beverage

About the role

The Assistant Manager – Food & Beverage will support daily restaurant operations, assist with menu planning, and uphold sanitation standards. This role works closely with servers, hosts, and the kitchen team to ensure smooth service during peak periods and to continuously improve guest and employee satisfaction.

Key responsibilities

• Assist in supervising restaurant shifts, handling employee questions, and monitoring performance.
• Ensure all staff have necessary supplies, equipment, and uniforms.
• Communicate food quality and service issues to the Chef and Restaurant Manager.
• Monitor compliance with alcohol service laws and restaurant policies.
• Manage budgetary goals and contribute to achieving financial targets.
• Open and close restaurant shifts, performing duties of various restaurant positions as needed.
• Interact with guests to gather feedback, resolve complaints, and promote excellent customer service.
• Participate in department meetings and convey clear messages about goals.

Required profile

• High school diploma or GED with 4 years of food‑and‑beverage experience, OR a 2‑year degree in Hospitality, Food Service Management, Business Administration, etc., with 2 years of relevant experience.
• Strong communication skills and ability to coach and counsel staff.
• Ability to handle guest issues and maintain a positive service environment.

Required skills

• Understanding of local alcohol service regulations.
• Basic budgeting and financial awareness.
