Assistant Manager – Fleet Management (Transport Safety)

About the role

The Assistant Manager – Fleet Management will lead transport safety initiatives for a fleet of 250 heavy‑goods vehicles handling LPG, lubricants and SFL. You will ensure compliance with PATROM road‑safety norms, coordinate audits, and drive a zero‑accident culture across all transport operations.

Key responsibilities

• Manage vehicle induction, acceptance, commissioning and maintain approved vehicle lists.
• Monitor fleet roadworthiness, statutory certifications and Safe‑to‑Load compliance.
• Conduct periodic and surprise inspections, participate in accident investigations and root‑cause analysis.
• Coordinate with 12 transporters on compliance, performance reviews and audit action‑plan closure.
• Track transportation KPIs, fleet utilization, breakdowns and safety performance; prepare regular reports.
• Ensure proper upkeep of safety equipment such as OBC, IVMS and TX Trailer.

Required profile

• Graduate in Engineering or Science with 5‑10 years of experience in fleet or logistics operations, preferably in Oil & Gas or hazardous cargo.
• Strong analytical ability, good interpersonal and communication skills, and ability to work under high pressure.
• Knowledge of transport regulations, fleet safety systems and logistics industry trends.
