Assistant Manager / Deputy Manager – Quality Assurance & Control

About the role

The role focuses on ensuring product quality across sheet‑metal, fabricated, machined and assembled components. You will lead supplier quality activities, drive continuous improvement and support cross‑functional teams.

Key responsibilities

• Inspection and measurement of sheet metal, fabricated, machined, bought‑out and assembly components.
• Prepare and review measurement protocols, inspection reports and quality assurance plans.
• Handle supplier quality issues, manage corrective and preventive actions, and support supplier qualification and audits.
• Conduct root‑cause analysis using tools such as 5 Why, Fishbone and 8D, and drive continuous improvement initiatives.
• Coordinate with engineering, SCM, manufacturing, project management and suppliers on quality‑related topics.

Required profile

• B.E./B.Tech. Mechanical Engineering with 6‑10 years of relevant experience.
• Strong knowledge of GD&T, tolerance analysis and measurement techniques.
• Experience with quality systems such as IATF 16949, ISO 9001, PPAP and APQP.
• Proven ability to conduct problem‑solving using FMEA, SPC, 8D and related methodologies.
• Good communication, analytical thinking and stakeholder management skills.

Required skills

• Hands‑on experience with CMM, roundness tester, surface‑roughness tester, hardness tester, height gauge, profile projector and air gauge.
• Understanding of engineering drawings, welding & fabrication, sheet‑metal components, machining, heat‑treatment and surface‑treatment processes.
• Familiarity with quality certifications such as CWI, NDT Level‑1 and internal/lead auditor qualifications.
