Assistant Manager - Assurance (FAAS) - Mumbai

About the role

EY is hiring an Assistant Manager for its National Assurance practice, within the Financial Accounting Advisory Services (FAAS) team, based in Mumbai. The role covers FAAS projects such as GAAP conversions, consolidation, transaction support, IPO preparedness and IFRS training, with regular travel to meet key clients.

Key responsibilities

• Manage and execute FAAS projects and develop and implement solutions
• Identify and develop business opportunities and manage accounts, depending on level
• Coach junior team members and encourage technical excellence and learning
• Integrate with other EY service lines on multi-disciplinary projects
• Contribute to thought leadership and take part in marketing activities
• Travel regularly to meet key clients

Required profile

• A qualified CA (or equivalent such as CPA, ICAEW, ACCA)
• Good academic record (first or second attempt for ICAI or equivalent)
• Minimum 3-5 years of relevant post-qualification experience
• Ability to explain complex accounting and financial reporting issues simply
• Advisory mindset, solution-oriented approach and business development aptitude (strong track record expected at Senior Manager and above)

Required skills

• Strong IGAAP and/or IFRS and/or US GAAP financial reporting experience in complex or large companies, typically in audit, advisory, transaction or MNC finance/M&A environments
• Specific financial reporting experience in at least one area: transactions (acquisitions, carve-outs, demergers, restructuring), IPO preparation, complex consolidation, tax planning, or technical training delivery
• Project management and excellent communication skills
