Assistant Financial Controller - Taxation

About the role

The Assistant Financial Controller – Taxation will support the Country Controller in overseeing tax compliance, accounting operations, and internal controls for Experian’s Hyderabad unit. This role involves managing direct and indirect tax matters, preparing statutory returns, and liaising with auditors and tax authorities.

Key responsibilities

• Lead and facilitate the APA (Advance Pricing Agreement) application process, reviewing documentation and communicating updates to stakeholders.
• Coordinate with the global tax team and external consultants to ensure accurate information flow.
• Collaborate with business owners to gather data and conduct functional interviews.
• Prepare and submit corporate tax returns, transfer pricing study reports, and monthly/quarterly WHT filings.
• Represent the company at tax assessment forums, dispute resolution panels, and appellate tribunals.
• Review monthly, quarterly, and annual financial statements, including income statements, balance sheets, and cash flow projections.
• Analyze financial data to provide actionable insights for strategic decisions.
• Oversee daily accounting operations, intercompany billing, and fund management.
• Serve as the primary contact for internal and external auditors, coordinating audit processes.

Required profile

• Experience in tax compliance, transfer pricing, and statutory reporting.
• Strong knowledge of direct and indirect tax regulations in India.
• Ability to interact with global tax teams, external consultants, and tax authorities.
• Proficiency in preparing and reviewing financial statements and cash flow projections.
• Excellent analytical skills to interpret financial data and support business decisions.
