Assistant Finance Manager – General Ledger

About the role

We are seeking an Assistant Finance Manager to support the Finance Manager/Finance Controller in overseeing General Ledger activities at our Chennai office. The role ensures accurate recording, reconciliation and reporting of financial transactions while leading a GL team.

Key responsibilities

• Maintain and reconcile the General Ledger, ensuring compliance with accounting principles.
• Perform cash and bank reconciliations, foreign currency accounting and revaluation.
• Manage intercompany accounting and balance‑sheet schedules.
• Provide audit support and drive process improvements, automation and UAT.
• Lead, coach and onboard GL team members.

Required profile

• 8–12 years of finance/accounting experience with strong GL and month‑end close expertise.
• Proven analytical, problem‑solving and attention‑to‑detail abilities.
• Effective communication and stakeholder coordination skills.
• Team management and people‑development experience.
• Proactive, flexible attitude toward process improvement and change.
