Assistant Executive Housekeeper

About the role

The Assistant Executive Housekeeper supports the overall management and supervision of the housekeeping department at Hyatt Regency Chennai. This full‑time, on‑site position ensures that guest rooms and public areas meet brand standards and safety requirements. The role involves coordinating with laundry, scheduling staff, and contributing to training and performance development.

Key responsibilities

• Oversee cleaning standards for rooms and public areas.
• Coordinate with laundry operations to ensure timely linen supply.
• Schedule, guide and supervise housekeeping team members.
• Conduct regular inspections of guest areas and public spaces.
• Manage inventory of linens, supplies and departmental reports.
• Collaborate with other hotel departments to address guest requests and resolve service issues promptly.
• Contribute to training and performance development of housekeeping staff.

Required profile

• Strong organizational skills for managing schedules, inventories and operations.
• Effective communication and customer‑service abilities to interact with guests and colleagues.
• Practical experience with laundry processes, linen care and coordination between housekeeping and laundry.
• Proven experience in training, mentoring and supervising housekeeping teams.
• Previous housekeeping supervision experience in upscale or luxury hotel environments.
• Attention to detail with knowledge of hygiene and safety standards.
• Flexibility to work weekends, holidays and varied hours.
• Diploma or degree in Hotel Management preferred; equivalent hospitality experience considered.
