Assistant Executive Housekeeper

About the role

The Assistant Executive Housekeeper supports daily housekeeping, recreation/health club and laundry operations at a Marriott hotel in Kolkata. This entry‑level management position ensures guest rooms and public areas are clean, inspected and ready for guests while helping to maintain budgetary controls.

Key responsibilities

• Obtain daily room cleaning lists and assign work to housekeeping staff.
• Coordinate with Front Desk and Engineering to communicate room status and maintenance needs.
• Manage inventory of linens, supplies and guest amenities, ordering as required.
• Oversee lost‑and‑found procedures and ensure compliance with loss‑prevention policies.
• Conduct inspections of guestrooms and public spaces, providing feedback and corrective actions.
• Supervise housekeeping operations in the absence of the Director of Services or Housekeeping Manager.
• Handle guest complaints, review comment cards and promote exceptional customer service.

Required profile

• High school diploma or GED with at least 1 year housekeeping experience, OR a 2‑year degree in Hotel & Restaurant Management, Hospitality, Business Administration or related field.
• Strong understanding of OSHA regulations and safety standards.
• Ability to work effectively with cross‑functional teams such as Front Desk, Engineering and Loss Prevention.
• Excellent communication and organizational skills.
