Assistant Design Engineer – New Product Development

About the role

The Assistant Design Engineer will join the New Product Development (NPD) team to create early‑stage mechanical concepts and validate prototypes for pharmaceutical packaging systems. The role focuses on turning ideas into manufacturable, reliable designs through disciplined analysis and hands‑on execution.

Key responsibilities

• Study existing machine designs, trial data and competitor solutions to spot improvement opportunities.
• Develop 3D models, concept layouts and prototype designs using approved CAD platforms and modern design tools.
• Apply simulation, motion‑analysis and AI‑assisted design tools to validate feasibility.
• Perform tolerance analysis, engineering calculations and material selection to ensure manufacturability.
• Prepare and release accurate prototype drawings and Bills of Materials under defined engineering controls.
• Support fabrication and assembly of prototypes, ensuring alignment between digital and physical builds.
• Participate in prototype trials, collect performance data and drive continuous improvement.
• Document trial results, simulation findings and design revisions in a traceable format.
• Collaborate with automation, controls and digital teams as a technical contributor for assigned modules.

Required profile

• B.E./B.Tech in Mechanical Engineering.
• 3–4 years of design‑related experience, preferably in pharma machine manufacturing or packaging.
• Proven ability to work on mechanical concepts from idea generation through prototype validation.
