Area Manager – Construction Civil

About the role

We are seeking an experienced Area Manager to lead civil construction activities for ongoing expansion projects at Tata Steel Limited. The role involves planning, executing and monitoring infrastructure works across multiple engineering sites, ensuring cost, time and quality targets are met while maintaining safety standards.

Key responsibilities

• Plan monthly and daily activities in line with approved project timelines.
• Implement construction schedules, work plans and monitor day‑to‑day progress.
• Prepare progress updates and management information systems (MIS) reports.
• Develop site infrastructure such as shelters, toilets, drinking water, service water, canteen, roads, communication and quality systems before main construction starts.
• Coordinate with stakeholders and vendors to ensure timely delivery of services and materials.
• Identify project‑execution needs, escalate issues and ensure swift resolution.
• Mobilise and manage manpower, material and machinery on site.
• Conduct risk analysis, enforce SOPs, quality‑assurance plans and safety standards.
• Interface with customer departments to resolve daily issues and maintain project momentum.
• Bill vendors accurately and maintain records of free‑issue items.

Required profile

• BE/B.Tech or equivalent degree in Civil Engineering.
• Proven experience in civil and structural construction, industrial buildings and road works.
• Ability to interpret engineering drawings and execute works accordingly.
