Application Manager - ERP Basis Platform Services

About the role

The Application Manager will own the SAP Basis service portfolio and ensure stable, secure, and reliable SAP platform delivery. Working closely with SAP Security/GRC, ABAP, Integration, Infrastructure, Cloud and Enterprise Architecture teams, the role drives platform modernization, upgrades and migration initiatives. The manager also governs vendor performance, service quality and continuous improvement across managed service providers.

Key responsibilities

• Own SAP Basis service delivery and guarantee platform stability, security and reliability.
• Govern vendor performance, SLAs, KPIs and lead continuous improvement initiatives.
• Provide SAP Basis architectural leadership for platform changes, upgrades, migrations and cloud adoption.
• Oversee SAP landscape strategy, lifecycle management, capacity planning and disaster‑recovery readiness.
• Manage incidents, problems, changes, risks and service escalations in line with ITIL processes.
• Collaborate with SAP Security, GRC, ABAP, Integration and Infrastructure teams on cross‑functional projects.

Required profile

• Bachelor's or Master's degree in IT, Computer Science, Engineering or related field.
• 12+ years of SAP Basis administration and platform operations experience.
• 5+ years managing outsourced SAP Basis services and vendor governance.
• Proven experience delivering SAP ECC, S/4HANA, HANA, Fiori and cloud transformations.

Required skills

• SAP Basis administration (ECC, S/4HANA, HANA, Fiori).
• SAP Cloud platforms and SAP BTP.
• ITIL process knowledge (Incident, Problem, Change, Release, Service Level Management).
• Vendor governance and SLA management.
• Azure or AWS cloud services.
• SAP Solution Manager or SAP Cloud ALM.
