Application Engineer – Personal Auto

About the role

3M is seeking an Application Engineer focused on personal automotive applications. You will work closely with cross‑functional teams and customers to ensure product performance, suitability, and successful market launch.

Key responsibilities

• Provide technical support for automotive‑related products and applications.
• Collaborate with customers to understand requirements and recommend suitable solutions.
• Conduct product evaluations, testing, validation, and performance analysis.
• Work with R&D and product development to optimize products based on market feedback.
• Support new product introductions, trials, and commercialization activities.
• Troubleshoot application issues and deliver timely technical resolutions.
• Prepare technical documentation, reports, presentations, and application guidelines.
• Partner with sales and marketing to drive customer engagement and business growth.
• Monitor industry trends, competitive products, and emerging customer needs.
• Ensure compliance with quality, safety, and regulatory standards.
• Conduct training sessions and create application demos to showcase product value.

Required profile

• Bachelor’s degree in Engineering, Materials Science, Chemical Engineering, Mechanical Engineering, or a related field.
• Relevant experience in application engineering, technical service, product development, or automotive‑related industries.
• Strong technical problem‑solving and analytical abilities.
• Effective communication and presentation skills.
• Ability to work collaboratively in cross‑functional and customer‑facing environments.
• Experience in product testing, validation, and technical documentation.
