Android Software Engineer

About the role

We are looking for an Android Software Engineer to help design, build and scale our Android application for a rapidly growing user base. You will work closely with product, backend and security teams to deliver high‑quality, secure mobile experiences.

Key responsibilities

• Design and develop new features in a mixed Java/Kotlin codebase.
• Architect and lead modularization efforts, creating reusable feature modules and SDKs.
• Scope projects with product, implement features, and occasionally contribute to backend services.
• Define and enforce a mobile security strategy, including biometrics, cryptography, secure networking and code obfuscation.
• Monitor crash rates, network performance and UI latency to ensure a premium user experience.
• Drive adoption of modern Android standards and mentor junior team members.
• Contribute to the engineering roadmap for new products targeting the Indian market and beyond.

Required skills

• Java and Kotlin programming for Android.
• Android SDK, modular architecture and feature‑module development.
• Integration with RESTful APIs.
• Mobile security concepts: biometrics, cryptography, secure networking, obfuscation.
• Testing and code‑quality practices.
• Monitoring tools for crash, network and UI performance.
• Bonus: familiarity with Ruby or Python.
