Android Software Engineer – Digital Banking

About the role

Citi is seeking an Android Software Engineer to join a cross‑functional Agile team that delivers customer‑facing banking and credit‑card features on mobile and web platforms. You will work across the full software development lifecycle, from design and coding to testing and post‑production support, shaping digital experiences used by millions of customers daily.

Key responsibilities

• Build and maintain native Android applications that enable banking and credit‑card functionality.
• Translate UI/UX designs into production‑ready code, integrating with Java Spring Boot microservices.
• Create and maintain automated and manual test scripts using a Behavior Driven Development (BDD) framework.
• Leverage AI‑assisted tools such as GitHub Copilot for code generation, unit test creation, API scaffolding, and debugging.
• Participate in Agile ceremonies, including grooming, design reviews, integration testing, and CI/CD deployments.
• Perform functional and accessibility testing to ensure compliance with ADA guidelines.
• Analyze root causes of defects and performance issues, collaborating with the scrum team to resolve them.
• Support release go‑live activities and post‑production technical checkouts.

Required profile

• 2+ years of hands‑on Android native development experience.
• Bachelor’s degree in Computer Engineering, a related STEM field, or equivalent practical experience.
• Experience working in Agile/Scrum teams and using CI/CD pipelines.
• Strong communication skills and ability to work with onshore and offshore teams.
