Android SDK Developer

About the role

We are seeking an Android SDK Developer to join Razorpay’s Core Payments team in Bangalore. You will build and scale the native Android SDK that powers payment integrations for thousands of merchants worldwide, ensuring it remains secure, lightweight and developer‑friendly.

Key responsibilities

• Design, develop and maintain the Android SDK, delivering high‑availability payment experiences across a fragmented device and OS landscape.
• Write clean, modular code following architectural patterns such as MVVM, MVI or Clean Architecture.
• Automate testing, builds and performance profiling; eliminate repetitive tasks through automation.
• Implement telemetry and instrumentation to monitor success rates, latency and other runtime metrics.
• Apply security best practices including SSL pinning, ProGuard/R8 obfuscation and runtime integrity/root‑detection checks.
• Collaborate with product and backend teams to design high‑performance features and ensure seamless integration.
• Support cross‑platform bridge frameworks (Flutter, React Native, Cordova) and contribute to iOS parity where needed.

Required profile

• 2+ years of native Android development experience using Kotlin (Java knowledge required for legacy code).
• Strong understanding of OOP principles and Android architectural patterns.
• Experience with Kotlin Coroutines/Flow, Jetpack libraries, XML layouts and Jetpack Compose.
• Proficiency in Android Studio Profiler, LeakCanary and network inspection tools.
• Familiarity with Gradle customization, Maven Central publishing and CI/CD tools such as Fastlane or GitHub Actions.
• Bonus: exposure to iOS development (Swift) and contributions to open‑source projects.
