Android Developer - SDE 2 (Kotlin)

About the role

We are looking for an experienced Android Software Development Engineer (SDE‑2) to join our fast‑moving mobile team. You will design, build, and maintain high‑quality Android applications using Kotlin while collaborating closely with product, design, and engineering colleagues.

Key responsibilities

• Collaborate with cross‑functional teams to design scalable, robust app architecture.
• Write clean, maintainable Kotlin code, including Kotlin Flow and coroutines, to implement new features, enhancements, and bug fixes.
• Develop and run unit and integration tests to ensure reliability of the consumer app.
• Identify performance bottlenecks and optimise the app for speed, responsiveness, and resource efficiency.
• Produce technical documentation, design documents, API specs, and release notes.
• Participate in Agile ceremonies such as sprint planning, daily stand‑ups, and retrospectives.
• Stay current with Android development trends and continuously improve coding standards and processes.

Required profile

• Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Engineering or related field (Master’s preferred).
• 3‑5 years of professional Android development experience.
• Strong problem‑solving abilities, attention to detail and excellent communication skills.
• Ability to thrive in a fast‑paced, dynamic environment.

Required skills

• Kotlin (including Kotlin Flow and coroutines).
• ANR detection and resolution, memory‑leak detection.
• Dependency injection frameworks such as Dagger or Hilt.
• Android SDK, Android Studio, and related development tools.
• Android architecture components: MVVM, LiveData, Room, RecyclerView optimisation, Data Binding, View Binding.
• Software design principles, patterns and best practices.
• RESTful APIs, JSON, Protocol Buffers.
• Version control with Git and CI tools like Jenkins.
• Kotlin Multiplatform (hands‑on experience).
