Android Developer – Payments SDK

About the role

Razorpay is seeking an Android Developer to join its Core Payments team. You will own the development and scaling of the Android SDK that powers payment processing for thousands of merchants across multiple geographies.

Key responsibilities

• Design, develop, and maintain a high‑availability native Android SDK.
• Write clean, modular, and maintainable code following MVVM, MVI, or Clean Architecture patterns.
• Automate repetitive tasks, builds, tests, and performance profiling.
• Implement telemetry to monitor success rates, latency, and other runtime metrics.
• Apply security best practices such as SSL pinning, ProGuard/R8 obfuscation, and root‑detection checks.

Required profile

• 2+ years of native Android development experience with Kotlin (Java knowledge required for legacy code).
• Strong understanding of OOP principles and architectural patterns.
• Practical experience with bridge‑based frameworks like Flutter, React Native, or Cordova.
• Proficiency in debugging using Android Studio Profiler, LeakCanary, and network inspection tools.
• Bonus: familiarity with iOS/Swift, Gradle customization, Maven Central publishing, and CI/CD tools (Fastlane, GitHub Actions).
