Analyst – Data Science

About the role

The Analyst‑Data Science will join the Credit & Fraud Risk (CFR) Analytics & Data Science Center of Excellence at American Express. You will develop, deploy and validate predictive models that guide profitable decisions across risk, fraud and marketing, while working with large‑scale data and cutting‑edge machine‑learning techniques.

Key responsibilities

• Design, build, test and operationalize predictive models that support risk, fraud and marketing decisions.
• Analyze massive data sets to extract business insights and propose innovative solutions.
• Leverage Amex’s closed‑loop network to make decisions more intelligent and relevant.
• Drive innovation by exploring new big‑data and machine‑learning approaches.
• Communicate findings clearly to leadership and key partners across prospect and customer domains.
• Stay informed on external developments in finance, payments and analytics.

Required profile

• MBA or master’s degree in Economics, Statistics, Computer Science or a related field.
• 2‑4 years of experience in analytics or big‑data workstreams.
• Proven ability to work effectively in a team and deliver project results.
• Strong communication and interpersonal skills.
• Innovative problem‑solver who learns quickly and can work independently on complex tasks.
