Anaesthesiology Specialist

About the role

The Anaesthesiology Specialist will provide safe, compassionate, and ethical anaesthetic care to patients at Aster RV Hospital. Working closely with senior consultants, the role involves comprehensive patient management throughout the peri‑operative period.

Key responsibilities

• Examine patients, record history and clinical notes in the EMR.
• Request and document investigations and results.
• Conduct daily ward rounds and update patient progress.
• Follow management plans approved by the registrar or consultant in‑charge.
• Participate in on‑call duties, ensuring coordinated patient care.
• Assist senior team members with invasive procedures.
• Manage emergency situations, including cardiopulmonary resuscitation, and communicate with senior staff.
• Liaise with the clinical services committee and attend inter‑departmental meetings.
• Maintain accurate medical records and adhere to infection‑control standards.
• Follow departmental quality indicators, patient bylaws, turnaround times and protocols.
