Air & Thermal System Engineer (Bangalore)

About the role

Air & Thermal System Engineers at Airbus India are responsible for designing, developing and integrating air‑conditioning, ventilation and thermal management solutions for Airbus aircraft. The role is based in Bengaluru and focuses on delivering reliable, efficient and lightweight systems that meet stringent aerospace standards.

Key responsibilities

• Perform detailed design and analysis of aircraft air conditioning, ventilation, and thermal management systems, including component selection and sizing.
• Conduct simulations and analyses to predict system performance under various operating conditions.
• Develop and review technical specifications, requirements documents, and test procedures.
• Participate in system integration activities with structures, avionics, propulsion and other disciplines.
• Support ground and flight testing, analyse test data and troubleshoot system issues.
• Identify and implement solutions for cost reduction, weight optimisation and performance improvement.
• Manage supplier interactions and ensure compliance with aviation regulations and internal procedures.
• Prepare technical reports, presentations and documentation for internal and external stakeholders.

Required profile

• Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in Engineering.
• Proven experience in design, analysis and development of air conditioning, ventilation or thermal management systems, preferably in aerospace.
• Strong understanding of thermodynamics, fluid dynamics and heat transfer principles.
• Knowledge of system engineering and experience with supplier steering/management (advantageous).
• Familiarity with DO‑160 standards and aircraft certification processes (EASA, FAA) is highly desirable.
• Excellent analytical, problem‑solving and communication skills.
• Ability to work independently and within a multidisciplinary team in a fast‑paced environment.
• Fluency in English, both written and spoken.
