AI Data Protection Forward Deployed Engineer – Manager

About the role

EY is seeking an AI Data Protection Forward Deployed Engineer – Manager to own client‑facing data protection transformations that combine enterprise platforms, cybersecurity controls, and AI tools. This hands‑on leader will move from discovery through design to production deployment, embedding with clients to deliver high‑impact solutions.

Key responsibilities

• Lead discovery, architecture, and deployment of AI‑enabled data protection solutions for strategic clients.
• Serve as a forward‑deployed technical leader, breaking down ambiguous problems and driving measurable production outcomes.
• Architect integrations across data‑protection platforms, AI models, copilots, RAG pipelines, and enterprise data estates.
• Guide engineering teams through build, integration, testing, go‑live, and post‑deployment hardening while maintaining quality and pace.
• Shape pursuit solutions with demos, proofs of concept, effort estimates, and technical proposals.
• Develop reusable methods, accelerators, reference architectures, and runbooks to strengthen firm‑wide offerings.
• Manage client expectations, delivery scope, risks, and technical escalations while coaching teams and transferring knowledge.

Required profile

• 8–12 years of experience in data protection, cybersecurity engineering, security architecture, privacy engineering, or cloud security.
• Deep expertise in data discovery/classification, PKI, KMS, and information rights management.
• Strong working knowledge of machine learning, deep learning, NLP, retrieval‑augmented generation (RAG), AI‑assisted prioritization, and model risk scoring.
• Proven experience designing and deploying enterprise‑grade solutions on Azure, AWS, or GCP.
• Hands‑on experience with AI/data‑protection tools such as Microsoft Copilot, GitHub Copilot, Claude Enterprise, Gemini Enterprise, Purview, DSPM platforms, and Python.
• Excellent client‑facing communication and ability to act as a trusted technical advisor to senior stakeholders.
• Preferred: background in professional services, regulated industries (financial services, healthcare, public sector), and experience with pricing, estimation, and deal shaping.
