AI Agent Engineer

About the role

Lexsi Labs is seeking a Senior AI Agent Engineer to design and build a high‑autonomy AI Engineering Agent that can execute end‑to‑end AI engineering workflows. The role focuses on creating interpretable, aligned, and safe superintelligent systems for real‑world enterprise deployment.

Key responsibilities

• Define and implement the core architecture of the AI Engineering Agent, including reasoning, planning, memory, and execution control.
• Build robust tool‑orchestration layers that enable reliable interaction with internal services, external APIs, and data pipelines.
• Design memory and state management systems to support long‑running, multi‑step tasks.
• Integrate alignment, safety, and interpretability mechanisms in collaboration with research teams.
• Stress‑test the agent in real‑world conditions, identify failure modes, and iterate to improve reliability.

Required profile

• Deep hands‑on engineering experience with AI systems.
• Ability to operate in ambiguous environments and take full ownership from day one.
• Experience designing scalable, production‑grade architectures.
• Strong bias toward transparency, auditability, and robustness.
