Accounting Manager

About the role

Workday is seeking an experienced Accounting Manager to lead a small team and drive operational efficiency across global month‑end close activities. The role reports to the Director of Corporate Accounting and offers the chance to influence process automation and continuous improvement in a fast‑growing environment.

Key responsibilities

• Lead a team of 4‑6 accountants.
• Oversee global month‑end close tasks such as bank reconciliation, prepaid expense review, expense accruals, and balance‑sheet reconciliations.
• Support balance‑sheet and income‑statement variance analysis after close.
• Collaborate with Treasury, FP&A, and Accounts Payable to ensure accurate transaction recording.
• Coordinate external audit schedules and provide required documentation.
• Create and maintain Standard Operating Procedures for accounting processes.
• Promote continuous improvement and engage with business owners on accounting matters.
• Mentor and develop accounting staff.
• Perform ad‑hoc analyses and cross‑functional projects.

Required profile

• Bachelor’s degree in Accounting.
• Deep knowledge of US GAAP.
• 8+ years of accounting experience, preferably in a publicly traded company.
• 4+ years of people‑leadership or managerial experience.
