Accountant – Travel & Tourism Company

About the role

The Accountant will oversee daily financial operations for a leading travel and tourism operator. Working on‑site in Guwahati, you will collaborate closely with operations and management teams to ensure accurate and timely financial information.

Key responsibilities

• Maintain bookkeeping records, ledgers, and bank reconciliations.
• Process accounts payable and receivable, prepare and review invoices.
• Monitor cash flow, payments, and receipts.
• Assist with budgeting and support monthly and annual financial closing activities.
• Prepare financial reports and ensure compliance with accounting standards and Indian tax regulations.
• Coordinate with internal teams and external auditors as required.

Required profile

• Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance, Commerce or related field.
• Professional certifications such as CA Inter or CMA are a plus.
• Strong core accounting skills including ledger management, bank reconciliation and financial reporting.
• Knowledge of Indian taxation, compliance and relevant financial regulations.
• Ability to work in a fast‑paced environment and meet deadlines.
• Prior experience in travel, tourism or service industry and multi‑branch accounting is beneficial.

Required skills

• Proficiency with accounting software (e.g., Tally or similar systems).
• Advanced Microsoft Excel skills.
