Accountant

About the role

StartupKaro is looking for a diligent Accountant to manage bookkeeping and tax compliance for a portfolio of startup clients. You will work closely with clients and senior accountants to ensure accurate financial records and timely reporting.

Key responsibilities

• Maintain monthly bookkeeping and ledger entries for multiple client accounts.
• Prepare and file GST returns, income‑tax returns (ITR) and other statutory tax documents.
• Process payroll cycles, handling TDS, PF, and ESI deductions in compliance with Indian regulations.
• Reconcile bank statements, resolve discrepancies, and produce financial statements.
• Coordinate with Chartered Accountants and Company Secretaries for audits and ROC filings.
• Provide clients with regular financial updates and performance reports.

Required profile

• B.Com or M.Com degree with 1‑3 years of hands‑on accounting experience.
• Strong knowledge of Indian tax workflows (GST, TDS, Income Tax) and statutory compliance.
• Ability to handle several client accounts simultaneously while meeting deadlines.
• Excellent communication skills in English and Hindi, both written and verbal.
