Accountant – IFRS16

About the role

Volvo Group’s Accounting and Company Control team in Bangalore is seeking an Accountant specialized in IFRS16 lease accounting. You will support the Record to Report function, ensuring accurate month‑end close, reconciliations and financial reporting for sustainable transport solutions.

Key responsibilities

• Record and post journal entries related to lease accounting and period‑end close processes.
• Reconcile balance‑sheet and income‑statement accounts, collaborating with profit‑centre owners.
• Prepare and review recurring reporting packages, including financial statements and year‑end reports.
• Interact daily with internal clients and support internal and external audit activities.
• Monitor business transactions for compliance with IFRS, Volvo Group policies and SOX controls.
• Identify and propose process‑improvement ideas to increase efficiency.

Required profile

• Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in Commerce.
• 1–3 years of experience in IFRS16 lease accounting, month‑end close and financial reporting.
• Strong analytical mindset, attention to detail and ability to learn new systems quickly.
• Fluent written and spoken English.
• Willingness to work shifts and extra hours during close cycles.
