Accountant – General Ledger & Financial Analysis

About the role

The Accountant will be responsible for maintaining the department’s general ledger and delivering accurate financial analysis. This role ensures that all accounting transactions are recorded timely, reconciled, and reported in compliance with US GAAP and internal controls.

Key responsibilities

• Analyze, record, and report accounting transactions promptly.
• Prepare general ledger entries and perform account reconciliations.
• Respond to inquiries from management, auditors, and compliance teams regarding financial results and special reporting requests.
• Maintain confidentiality of financial information and protect the organization’s value.
• Interpret financial data, identify variances, and provide insights to drive business improvement.
• Assess and remediate internal control weaknesses to mitigate reporting risk.
• Apply relevant financial regulations, including tax, banking, and pension rules, ensuring compliance.

Required profile

• Bachelor’s degree or equivalent in Accounting, Finance, or a related field.
• 5‑8 years of experience in general ledger, record‑to‑report (R2R) processes, and financial analysis.
• Strong understanding of US Generally Accepted Accounting Principles (GAAP).
• Proven ability to work with internal and external auditors and to handle Sarbanes‑Oxley compliance.
• Excellent communication, collaboration, and accountability skills.
