Accountant – Finance Team (Mumbai)

About the role

We are seeking a highly skilled and detail‑oriented Accountant to join our dynamic finance team in Mumbai, India. As a key member of our organization, you will play a crucial role in maintaining accurate financial records, preparing reports, and ensuring compliance with Indian accounting standards and regulations.

Key responsibilities

• Manage day‑to‑day accounting operations, including accounts payable, accounts receivable, and general ledger maintenance.
• Prepare and analyze financial statements, reports, and forecasts in accordance with Indian accounting standards.
• Implement and maintain internal control systems to safeguard company assets.
• Monitor accounting data to produce accurate financial reports and statements.
• Establish and enforce proper accounting methods, policies, and principles.
• Coordinate and lead the annual budgeting and forecasting process.
• Ensure compliance with local tax laws and GST regulations.
• Provide financial analysis and recommendations to management for informed business decisions.
• Collaborate with other departments to streamline financial processes.
• Stay up‑to‑date with changes in Indian financial regulations and accounting standards.
• Assist in the preparation and filing of tax returns and statutory reports.

Required profile

• Bachelor's degree in Accounting, Finance, or a related field.
• Professional certification such as CA, CPA, or CMA preferred.
• Minimum of 5 years of experience in accounting or financial reporting roles.
• Strong knowledge of Indian accounting standards, tax laws, and GST regulations.
• Excellent analytical, problem‑solving, and attention‑to‑detail abilities.
• Effective communication skills in English; Hindi is a plus.
