Academic Success Manager

About the role

The Academic Success Manager (ASM) will lead adoption, retention and growth of Elsevier Health’s academic digital products across universities and colleges. Reporting to the regional leadership, the ASM works closely with deans, programme leads and faculty to ensure the solutions deliver measurable teaching and learning value from onboarding through renewal.

Key responsibilities

• Own the health of each academic account, proactively identifying adoption risks and driving engagement well before renewal periods.
• Lead the first 90‑day onboarding experience and initiate renewal conversations at least six months in advance.
• Develop and execute clear growth plans, including upsell opportunities, new department expansions and additional product fits.
• Use usage analytics and pattern recognition to spot early warning signs and trigger corrective actions.
• Build trusted relationships with stakeholders at all levels – deans, programme leads, coordinators, faculty, library and IT teams.
• Coordinate internal resources to present a single, cohesive plan for each institution.
• Deliver use‑case‑focused training that aligns with curriculum workflows and demonstrates how the product improves teaching and student preparedness.
• Create scalable onboarding assets such as digital learning rooms for “just‑in‑time” training.

Required profile

• 6–10 years of experience in academic digital product B2B sales or related field‑sales roles.
• Deep understanding of learning design, pedagogy, curriculum development and accreditation processes.
• Proven track record of managing complex accounts and driving revenue growth in the education sector.
• Excellent stakeholder management skills, able to navigate both top‑down and bottom‑up relationships.
