Academic Mentor (Hosteller)

About the role

The Academic Mentor (Hosteller) will support the academic progress and overall well‑being of resident students at our hybrid hostel in Coimbatore. You will combine academic coaching with residential oversight to create a disciplined, motivating study environment.

Key responsibilities

• Conduct morning, evening and night hostel rounds to enforce study schedules, decorum and campus discipline.
• Track daily practice problems and chapter‑wise exam results for Board and competitive tracks (NEET/JEE), identify learning gaps and implement corrective action plans.
• Lead a batch of 35+ resident students, organise hybrid study hours, self‑study schedules and regular doubt‑clearing sessions.
• Maintain accurate academic, behavioural and attendance logs; monitor weekly test and GIB exam performance.
• Communicate bi‑weekly with parents, providing updates on academic progress, hostel adaptation and well‑being.
• Assist with local administrative tasks such as fee status logging and day‑to‑day hostel logistics.

Required profile

• Native Tamil speaker with strong fluency in Tamil to engage effectively with local students.
• Ability to monitor physical health, emotional wellness and daily routines of resident students.
• Strong organisational skills to maintain logs, schedules and communication with stakeholders.
• Experience mentoring groups of students, preferably in a residential or hybrid learning setting.
