Academic Director – State Curriculum (Karnataka)

About the role

We are looking for an experienced Academic Director to lead academic excellence across a network of government‑supported schools in Karnataka. The role focuses on Grades 8‑12, ensuring high‑quality teaching, curriculum implementation, assessment, and student outcomes in line with the Karnataka State Curriculum.

Key responsibilities

• Develop and execute a comprehensive academic strategy aligned with state board requirements.
• Set academic standards, benchmarks and performance indicators for all schools.
• Oversee curriculum mapping, annual planning and instructional design.
• Design and monitor assessment frameworks, including board exam preparation.
• Lead teacher professional development, coaching and mentoring programmes.
• Build leadership capacity among principals, vice‑principals and academic coordinators.
• Conduct regular school visits, academic reviews and support school leaders in meeting targets.
• Represent the organisation in academic forums and prepare reports for internal and external stakeholders.

Required profile

• Master’s degree in Education, Curriculum & Instruction, Educational Leadership or a related field.
• B.Ed. or equivalent teaching qualification.
• 20–35+ years of progressive experience in school education, with at least 5 years in a senior academic leadership role.
• Strong experience with the Karnataka State Curriculum (or CBSE) for Grades 8‑12.
• Fluency in Kannada (read, write, speak) is essential.
