Strategy & Operations Lead – India

About the role

OpenAI is looking for a Strategy & Operations Lead to drive operational excellence across India. Reporting to the Managing Director, India, you will translate global strategy into regional execution and build scalable operating systems.

Key responsibilities

• Define and implement India’s operating strategy aligned with APAC and global objectives.
• Drive execution across key markets, adapting to local regulations and dynamics.
• Partner with global leadership to prioritize initiatives and allocate resources.
• Establish KPIs, reporting frameworks, and operating cadences for performance tracking.
• Build and optimize scalable processes across consumer, product, partnerships and other functions.
• Identify operational gaps and lead continuous‑improvement initiatives.
• Support market entry strategies and ensure operational readiness.
• Lead, mentor and grow a high‑performing regional operations team.

Required profile

• Significant experience leading regional or international operations in fast‑scaling, complex environments.
• Strong strategic and operational judgment with ability to translate goals into execution plans.
• Proven track record of building scalable operating systems, metrics and reporting frameworks.
• Excellent cross‑functional leadership and influencing skills with senior stakeholders.
• Comfort operating in ambiguity and creating structure in fast‑moving settings.
• High integrity, low ego and collaborative leadership style.
