Staff Software Engineer

About the role

We are seeking a highly experienced Staff Software Engineer with a strong Java background to join Addepar’s Letter of Authorisation (LOA) team in Pune. The team is building a cloud-native system that enables self-service onboarding of held-away accounts for enterprise clients, leveraging our application framework and modern architecture principles.

Key responsibilities

• Architect, implement, and maintain scalable engineering solutions, writing well-designed, testable code.
• Lead project priorities, deadlines, and technical direction while collaborating with product managers, engineers, and partners.
• Provide active support for business needs during US business hours and act as the engineering liaison to clients and product support.
• Mentor and coach other engineers, fostering an inclusive team culture.
• Participate in the design and development of strategic Addepar products and ensure code quality, scalability, and extensibility.

Required profile

• B.S. or M.S. in Computer Science or equivalent practical experience.
• Minimum 9 + years of software engineering experience.
• Expert-level proficiency in backend development with Java.
• Strong experience building scalable microservice architectures on AWS or another public cloud.
• Hands-on experience with databases, including SQL, NoSQL, OLAP, and data-lake technologies.
• Demonstrated ownership mentality and ability to mentor peers.
