Staff Software Engineer – Fullstack

About the role

Databricks is looking for a Staff Software Engineer to design and deliver customer‑facing full‑stack workflows on the Control Plane. You will partner with platform teams and product managers to create self‑serve, modular UI flows that enable product teams to build standard user journeys at scale.

Key responsibilities

• Design and implement simple, reusable workflows covering multiple user journeys in the Databricks Control Plane.
• Build self‑serve, modular UI components that support various product teams and standardize customer experiences.
• Collaborate with global cross‑functional teams, including product management and backend engineers, to deliver high‑quality software.
• Lead planning and execution of complex, multi‑team projects with clear milestones.
• Create, deploy, test, and upgrade large‑scale data pipelines with advanced visualization capabilities.
• Provide a robust SQL‑centric data exploration and dashboarding experience.
• Mentor and groom junior full‑stack engineers.

Required profile

• 10+ years of industry experience with a track record of leading multi‑quarter initiatives that deliver measurable customer or business impact.
• Proven experience building large‑scale distributed systems from the ground up.
• Comfortable working toward a multi‑year vision while delivering incremental value.
• Strong customer obsession and a passion for delivering high‑impact solutions.

Required skills

• SQL for data exploration and dashboarding.
• Design and implementation of large‑scale distributed systems.
• Experience with SaaS platforms and service‑oriented architectures.
• Front‑end architecture expertise, including performance, accessibility, security, and usability.
