Software Development Manager – Transportation Technology

About the role

Amazon is looking for a Software Development Manager to lead the design, implementation, and operation of large‑scale transportation technology. You will work with top‑tier engineers and product managers to deliver solutions that directly impact Amazon’s logistics network.

Key responsibilities

• Define, build, and deliver projects with measurable technical, product, and business impact.
• Drive the technology vision and roadmap for transportation services.
• Lead and mentor high‑performing engineering teams, fostering best practices and operational excellence.
• Collaborate with senior leadership, product, and program management to align technical solutions with business goals.
• Architect scalable, reliable multi‑tier web services and ensure end‑to‑end lifecycle quality.

Required profile

• 7+ years of software engineering experience.
• 3+ years of experience managing engineering teams.
• 8+ years leading definition and development of multi‑tier web services.
• Strong knowledge of full software/hardware/network development lifecycle, including coding standards, code reviews, source control, build processes, testing, certification, and live‑site operations.
• Proven ability to partner with product or program management teams.
