Senior Software Engineer – Level 1

About the role

Mastercard is seeking a Senior Software Engineer‑1 to design, develop, and deliver high‑quality software solutions that meet business requirements and adhere to Mastercard standards. The role involves full‑life‑cycle development, technical leadership, and mentoring of team members.

Key responsibilities

• Plan, design, and develop technical solutions that align with Mastercard processes and best practices.
• Lead day‑to‑day system development, maintenance, and on‑call support to meet SLAs.
• Own the full software development life cycle, including requirements, design, testing, performance benchmarking, and release rollout.
• Research, evaluate, and prototype emerging technologies, frameworks, and vendor solutions.
• Conduct brown‑bag sessions, provide technical training, and mentor team members throughout the SDLC.

Required profile

• Bachelor's degree in Information Systems, IT, Computer Science, Engineering or equivalent experience.
• 3–5 years of software engineering experience, preferably delivering secure solutions in the financial services sector.
• Broad understanding of software engineering concepts, methodologies, and SDLC processes.
• Demonstrated ability to work independently under pressure, with strong communication and collaborative skills.
