Senior Engineer IMS Core - GSD

About the role

Ericsson is seeking an experienced Senior IMS Core Engineer to lead the design, deployment and optimisation of IMS and 5G Core solutions for large communication service providers. The role combines technical leadership with hands‑on implementation across multi‑vendor environments.

Key responsibilities

• Deliver day‑to‑day project activities and ensure successful hand‑over to customers.
• Lead IMS and fixed‑voice performance management, design planning and capacity audits.
• Optimise network parameters, conduct KPI analysis and provide recommendations to improve customer satisfaction.
• Perform impact analysis for upgrades, troubleshoot issues and generate detailed reports using PCAP and Wireshark.
• Participate in RFP discussions, technical reviews and governance calls with global customers.

Required profile

• 3‑4 years of experience in deployment, design, planning or optimisation of IMS core nodes and 5G Core elements.
• Strong customer‑facing and communication skills.
• Hands‑on troubleshooting expertise on IMS and cloud‑based core networks.
• Familiarity with automation concepts and scripting.

Required skills

• Ericsson IMS platforms (SBG, CSCF, MTAS, BGF).
• 5G Core technologies (PCC, PCG).
• Core network elements: MME, AMF, SGW, PGW, SMF, UPF, DNS, SMSC, MIO, NFVi.
• Network planning, design, deployment and KPI‑driven optimisation.
• Python or other scripting languages.
• Wireshark/PCAP tracing and analysis.
