Section Engineer – Overall ITC (Rail Signalling)

About the role

Deutsche Bahn Engineering & Consulting is looking for a Section Engineer responsible for Overall Installation, Testing and Commissioning (ITC) of signalling and telecom systems in rail‑based transit projects. You will ensure that all works are performed according to approved procedures and specifications, supporting the delivery of safe and reliable railway infrastructure.

Key responsibilities

• Coordinate installation, testing and commissioning activities for signalling and telecom systems within the assigned section.
• Review installation readiness and verify site conditions, including equipment installation, cable terminations, power availability and interface readiness before testing.
• Collaborate with contractors, system engineers and other disciplines to ensure smooth execution of functional, interface and integration tests.
• Witness and verify installation and functional test execution, ensuring compliance with test procedures and documenting results.

Required profile

• Engineering graduate or diploma in Electrical/Electronics or equivalent.
• Minimum 7 years of experience (graduate) or 10 years (diploma) in Overall ITC during the construction phase of rail‑based transit system projects.

Required skills

• Installation, testing and commissioning of signalling and telecom systems.
• Experience with rail‑based transit system construction.
• Ability to assess site readiness, cable terminations and power availability.
• Knowledge of functional, interface and integration testing procedures.
