About the role
The Reservation Manager will lead the hotel’s reservations sales function, driving revenue growth and ensuring exceptional guest experiences. This role involves managing a team, cultivating new business opportunities, and maintaining strong relationships with existing clients.
Key responsibilities
- Identify and secure new reservations sales opportunities to meet personal and property revenue targets.
- Train, coach, and assign work to reservations sales staff.
- Upsell services and negotiate contracts to maximize revenue per booking.
- Monitor daily room inventory, same‑day selling procedures, and occupancy levels.
- Coordinate with sales and convention services to process rooming lists, reservation cards, and group forecasts.
- Generate proposals, draft contracts, and manage customer correspondence.
- Track no‑show reservations, apply billing instructions, and manage wait‑list priorities.
- Ensure service excellence throughout each guest interaction to build loyalty.
Required profile
- High school diploma or GED, or a 2‑year degree in Business Administration, Marketing, Hotel & Restaurant Management, or a related field.
- Minimum of 2 years experience in sales, marketing, guest services, front desk, or a comparable hospitality role.
- Strong understanding of market dynamics, competitor analysis, and revenue management principles.
Required skills
